The servers of Comdirekt, an online bank, have been hacked, and the database stored on them accessed. In the operation, which took place in mid-July, log-in details were obtained, and access to foreign account data was also gained. Comdirekt has admitted the attack, which it claims was caused by a faulty server update.
The service provider has, of course, since corrected it. Thanks to the two-factor authentication, there is no financial damage, and the attackers could not initiate transfers.
